The ceremony
Awardingdiplomas to financial coaches at the conclusion of the training course
Worth quoting
“While the government is busy with ‘Band-Aids,’ an organization like Mesila is generating a revolution in chareidisociety, through people from within the community. It’s the most worthwhile investment for the public.”
Who else did we see?
The Mesila staff, led by Chairman Rabbi Shmuli Margulies, Course Director Nachum Bruk, CPA Gilboa Weisfish, with a super-practical lecture on businesses that sprout at home, and, of course, the 78 talented and qualified coaches whose mission has now been stamped with a professional diploma.
# The newly minted coaches who stepped up to the speaker’s lectern, were from all sectorsof the Chareidicommunity. Each graduatereceived a diploma, had a picture taken at that exciting moment, and said a few words. While they used different words the message was the same: Although the course focused on training themto befamily financial coaches, they also learned valuable tools in communication andpsychology.
Theceremony was the culmination of the course for 78 individuals trained as financial coaches following the Mesila model. Some of the graduates were veteran coaches who took the course in order to receive a proper coaching diploma.
Chairman of Shas, MK Rav Michael Malkieli, the evening’s guest of honor said:
“Mesila fills a vacuum in which the ‘Establishment’ is absent. If the government would adopt the Mesila model, instead of busying themselves with Band-Aids, how much anguish they would save! I am gratified to see that, in contrast to the past, when we had to fall back on people from outside Chareidisociety in financial matters, Mesila has generated a financial revolution implemented by people from within our own community. From my acquaintance with families who were coached by Mesila, (I can say that) this is the best possible investment.”
The professional lecture was delivered by CPA Gilboa Weisfish, partner and director of the NPO departmentat the well known accounting firm BDSK. He challenged the coaches with the following question: How can you identify the applicability and profitability of a business concept that a client brings up during the coaching process? Later in the lecture, he provided guiding lines for coaches regarding their role when a business sprouts in the client’s home in the course of the coaching process.
Mesila Chairman Rabbi Shmuli Margulies moved all of those present when he quoted from an interview given to Mesila years ago by Hagaon R’ Avraham Genichovskyzt”l. On that occasion, Rav Genichovsky (whocprovided the halachic and spiritual backing for the organization )— he instructed the Mesila coaches that their primary mission was — to give their clients hope.
