A four-session Mesila workshop in Bnei Brak is empowering 200 women who are self-employed in childcare and other professions, with essential skills in financial planning.
The course illustrates the strong and long-lasting impact of Mesila’s courses for young adults: it was initiated at the suggestion of a young woman who took Mesila’s seminary course several years ago and is now a self-employed daycare provider. Remembering lessons from the Mesila curriculum, she knew that even though she was self employed, she should have a pension plan – and it was her responsibility to make it happen. She turned to Mesila’s Education Department director Etti Hochman for help in learning how to set up a viable plan.
Realizing that there were probably many women in similar situations, Mesila organized the workshop on financial management and planning for self-employed woman, with one session devoted entirely to pension plans.
