Over Chanukah school vacation, Mesila piloted its first financial “happening” aimed at teaching basic economic concepts to young children in kindergarten and early elementary school.
Some 180 youngsters and their parents participated in the fair, held at a Bnei Brak school and organized in partnership with the municipal welfare department and the Otzma volunteerism center. The children enjoyed visiting stations with games and activities that taught different concepts, and each youngster went home with a specially-prepared booklet of songs and poems on spending, lending, borrowing and saving money.
